Before CNshopper buys from the seller: the stretch where cancelling still works
From your payment to CNshopper’s purchase, an order can usually be cancelled. Here is what closes that window and what to settle while it is open.
What section 2 lets you do
The first stage runs from the moment you pay for an item to the moment CNshopper buys it from the seller. Section 2 of the Return & Refund Policy says you can cancel during this stretch, and that CNshopper “may cancel it and refund eligible amounts to your CNshopper balance or original payment method, depending on payment status and platform policies.” It tells you to get in touch with support straight away.
Two phrases deserve a second look. “Eligible amounts” rather than the whole order means some lines may not come back, so ask support what is eligible for your order before you assume a full refund. “Balance or original payment method” means the money may land in your CNshopper wallet first; if you want it back on your card, say so when you cancel.

Five situations that shut the window early
Section 2 lists the cases where cancelling may not be possible. Each of them is tied to the seller or the marketplace, which is why the listing site matters even this early:
- The item has been purchased from the seller. CNshopper’s help articles say orders are processed within 24 hours, so the first stage can be short.
- The seller has already shipped. Taobao and Tmall shops with stock often send the same or next day.
- Custom-made or made-to-order products. Printed or embroidered 1688 orders, tailored pieces, and in practice most Weidian pre-sale listings.
- The seller does not accept cancellations. Some shops state this on the listing; private sellers often simply stop replying.
- The order is being processed on the marketplace platform. Once the order is in the marketplace’s own system, cancelling depends on its process, not on CNshopper.
If you change your mind, the useful habit is to write to support at once, in the app or on the site, with the order number. Waiting until the next morning can be the difference between a cancellation and a return request.
When the seller cannot supply the item
Section 3 covers the opposite case: the seller cannot fill the order because the item is out of stock, restricted, or the purchase fails for another reason. CNshopper can then cancel and refund eligible items to your balance, to the original payment method where that is possible, or by another option its policy supports. It warns that refund times depend on the payment provider, the bank, currency processing and its own risk checks.
Stock figures on CNshopper’s product page come from the listing. On one Taobao listing we opened, two of the three colour options showed a stock of zero while the page still let you choose them. Picking an option with no stock is the most common way to land in section 3, so look at the stock line under each option before adding it to the cart. On Taobao and Weidian a listed stock number is also not always accurate, which is why a seller sometimes asks the agent to wait for a restock; ask promptly whether cancellation is still possible under the seller’s terms.

Choices you can only make at this stage
Everything that decides whether the warehouse photos will look right is fixed before CNshopper buys. CNshopper’s How to Order guide has a step for adding order notes, and it is the most underused field on the site. Use it to write the colour and size you expect in plain words, any detail the seller should confirm, and a request such as “please send a photo of the print before production” for custom work.
Check the option one more time against the listing photos. On Weidian, where CNshopper left the option names in Chinese on both listings we opened, paste the option text into a translator and write the translation in the note as well. If the listing is on a marketplace CNshopper’s search does not open, such as JD or Xianyu, every field of the order is typed by hand, so check each one twice.

How quickly the first stage ends on each marketplace
In practice the first stage is longest on 1688 and on Weidian pre-sale listings, where the seller may take days to confirm, and shortest on Taobao and Tmall shops that keep stock and ship fast. A private Xianyu seller can be quick or slow, but because CNshopper’s search does not open Xianyu listings, any order there starts outside the normal product page anyway.
The Origin check shows stage one as “Open” for an ordinary listing, “Closed once made” when you tick the custom flag, and adds a warning for links CNshopper could not open. None of those readings tell you how many hours you have; assume it is less than a day.
